The Life of a Princess

Be Still and Know That I Am God (Psalm 46:10)

  • Today we sung in chapel and those days are always my favorite. It’s a break from worrying about other things going on in/around our lives and to stop and give thanks to God through song. It’s an amazing feeling to sit amongst other Christian brothers and sisters and hear everyone coming together as one to raise their voice to their creator. I often like to stop singing and just merely listen, in those moments there is no definition for the joy and peace I feel. I enjoy the emotions that come with the words in hymns, the thoughts they bring across your mind. Today I was hit hard by the words in these two songs. I do not take enough time to sit and just listen to God, or to come before him in silence. I am usually too busy praying for things going on in my life and I don’t take time to BE STILL. I have also been feeling disconnected or unworthy when I have been connected. It’s like Satan is once again trying to attack me with a lie. As long as I keep my faith and allow God to fight my battles for me I’ll be able to overcome those lies. Another thing I struggle with from time to time is fearing my future. I fear where I’ll be live, what job I’ll have, what church I’ll find, who will my friends be, and what kind of person will I be then. When the truth is it doesn’t even matter because we aren’t promised any certain number of minutes let alone days, months, or years. I have to focus on where I am now and have complete faith and trust in God to lead me! I am not in control he is so I need not to fear and lean on him to place me exactly where I need to be. That’s the awesome thing about God, once you give your life to him and you stay on his path he’ll lay your plan out for you and put you exactly where your meant to be. He has it all laid out we just have make the choice to follow him and let him lead. DO NOT FEAR because he is the Lord your God and he will not let ANYTHING overcome you.

Be Still My Soul

Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrows and thy fears.
Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
From His own fulness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Do Not Fear

When you pass through the water I will be with you,
And the waves they will not overtake you.
Do not fear for I have redeemed you.
You are mine.

(Chorus)
For I am the Lord Your God.
For I am the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord.

When you pass through the fire I will be with you,
And the flames they will not overcome you.
Do not fear for I have redeemed you.
I have called you by name.
You are mine.

(Chorus)
For I am the Lord Your God.
For I am the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I am the Lord. (Women: Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord. (Do not fear.)
I am the Lord.
